Activists from 14 civic organizations, members of the online community medium Lokal Aktiv, attended a one-day training session to generate new local topics and write analytical reports that will then be published on their community online platform.
In the first part of the workshop, the activists were introduced to the specifics of community online media and their importance for informing citizens at the local level about various aspects of the life of the local community. Below are examples of two published presentations ("Bogdanci got an office for social services since three years it was equipped and closed" and "Environmental problem in the village Crnik, it requires a lot of creativity and a little good will to solve it") that can be seen in the original with the steps that should be mentioned in the creation of a professionally made presentation: to discover a relevant topic, to choose an aglot for the presentation, to collect data from various sources, as well as to calculate all ethical and professional standards when writing the text.
In the second part of the workshop, the activists talked about specific topics that are important to the citizens of the East and South-Eastern regions and received guidance on how to continue researching and processing the topics, under the mentorship of professional journalists who are part of the editorial staff of Local Active.
The working group is led by journalists Vesna Kolovska (editor of Lokal Aktiv) and Vane Trajkov (journalist engaged in the editorial office of Lokal Aktiv).
The workshop was held on November 4, in the premises of the Civic Resource Center in Štip, as part of the project "Encouraging civic engagement in local government - Local Active Media", which the RESIS Institute is implementing in cooperation with civic organizations in the Eastern and Southeast regions, and with support from the National Endowment for Democracy (NED).
