INCLUSIVE AND COHESIVE SOCIETY
The field of Inclusive and Cohesive Society focuses on studying the relations, communication and cooperation among various identity groups in the society. The main objective of this research field is to offer solutions for societal problems that are based on discovering the roots of prejudices and stereotypes about members of different social groups.
When communication and cooperation between groups are obstructed or hampered, a potential for conflict is created, and the bottom-line consequences of that are negative for general preconditions for growth and development of all groups in the society. The way in which different groups live ‘together’ in our society is one of the main research topics in this field.
The research results from this field can be used for developing programmes for strengthening inter-group cohesion or for changing the perceptions towards the members of other groups.
